About the Role
This position supports the growth and visibility of an established parenting publication through media outreach, partnership development, campaign coordination, and stakeholder engagement. The role offers significant flexibility and autonomy while working closely with an experienced author and industry stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be confident in managing professional communications, maintaining detailed records, building relationships, and driving outreach initiatives that create measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Media and Podcast Outreach
- Contact radio stations, podcasts, magazines, blogs, and parenting websites.
- Secure interviews, editorial features, reviews, and media coverage opportunities.
- Build relationships with media professionals and content creators.
Partnership Development
- Establish relationships with:
- Baby clinics
- Antenatal educators
- Parenting specialists
- Boutique baby and parenting retailers
- Coordinate strategic collaboration opportunities.
Campaign Management
- Coordinate promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives.
- Manage review copy distribution.
- Organize competitions, giveaways, and audience engagement activities.
- Track campaign performance and participation.
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for inquiries relating to the publication.
- Respond professionally to reader, partner, and retailer communications.
- Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Distribution and Logistics
- Track orders and deliveries.
- Monitor stock levels and consignment inventory.
- Coordinate book distribution activities and stock handovers.
Database Administration
- Maintain detailed outreach and partnership databases.
- Record communications and engagement outcomes.
- Track prospective partnership opportunities and follow-up activities.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly progress reports.
- Monitor outreach performance and conversion milestones.
- Highlight new promotional opportunities and partnership prospects.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience

Location Requirement
- Must be based in South Africa.
- Candidates residing in Cape Town will receive preference due to occasional stock handover requirements.
