About the Role
Ampath Laboratories is seeking a dedicated General Assistant (Messenger) to join its night shift team in Alberton. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of hospital and laboratory services by transporting documents, specimens, and supplies safely and efficiently between departments. The successful candidate will also assist with maintaining a clean and professional environment where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specimens, documents, and supplies accurately and on time.
- Support the movement of essential items between wards, departments, and care centres.
- Follow safety and confidentiality procedures when handling sensitive materials.
- Assist with general cleaning duties when required.
- Maintain professional interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.
- Adhere to workplace policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Previous healthcare or similar experience will be advantageous.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Time management and organisational abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
