About the Role

The Link Driver is responsible for transporting products safely and efficiently while ensuring deliveries are completed on time and in full. The successful candidate will operate heavy commercial vehicles, conduct vehicle inspections, maintain delivery documentation, and comply with all road safety and company regulations.

This role requires a professional driver who can work independently, maintain excellent vehicle standards, and provide outstanding service to customers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Vehicle Management

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
  • Report faults, defects, and mechanical issues promptly.
  • Complete vehicle inspection reports accurately.
  • Ensure vehicles are refueled and ready for operations.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and good housekeeping standards.

Transportation and Deliveries

  • Transport products safely between locations.
  • Load and off-load food products and pallets.
  • Verify delivery documentation against loads.
  • Ensure correct quantities are delivered to customers.
  • Obtain signed Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
  • Protect company products during transportation.

Safety and Compliance

  • Comply with the Road Traffic Act at all times.
  • Follow Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Adhere to company transport policies and procedures.
  • Drive responsibly and ensure the safety of all road users.
  • Ensure loads are secured and transported correctly.

Customer Service

  • Maintain professional interactions with customers.
  • Represent the company positively during deliveries.
  • Resolve delivery-related issues professionally.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate

License Requirements

  • Valid Code 14 Driver’s License
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
  • No endorsements on driver’s license

Experience Required

Applicants should possess:

  • 5–10 years of heavy vehicle driving experience
  • Experience operating:
    • Scania trucks
    • Mercedes-Benz trucks
    • MAN trucks
  • Proven track record of safe and reliable driving
