Administrator Vacancy – Johannesburg 2026
The Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience (SBIMB), a division of Wits Health Consortium, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator to support office operations, events coordination, procurement, and document control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage office supplies, procurement processes, and inventory control
- Obtain supplier quotations within approved budgets
- Process orders and receipting of goods
- Follow up on supplier payments
- Assist with asset verification
- Coordinate travel arrangements (flights, accommodation, transport)
- Maintain filing systems (electronic and physical)
- Schedule meetings and take minutes
- Book venues and prepare for workshops, trainings, and seminars
- Organise catering and set up venues for events
- Liaise with ICT and service providers for maintenance and IT support
- Draft correspondence and maintain document control systems
- Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience or qualification in Office Management / Public Administration
- Minimum 5 years’ office administration experience (research or NGO environment preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

Advantageous:
- Postgraduate qualification in Office Management or Public Administration
