About the Role
Lancet is looking for a dedicated Admin Clerk: Send Away to join our Pretoria team. This role ensures that specimens are sent to the relevant labs on time and that all management reports are accurate and up-to-date.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and send away specimen batches to labs to meet service level standards.
- Check refrigerators and ensure all overnight/weekend specimens are attended to.
- Verify specimens against requisition forms and log them correctly.
- Print lab batches, stamp proof of delivery, and submit to relevant labs.
- Conduct bench inspections and ensure turnaround times are met.
- Track and ensure specimens are received by relevant labs/sites.
- Provide training to new and existing staff on send away procedures.
- Attend to escalated queries from doctors and staff in the absence of managers.
- Maintain stock levels and report reorder needs to management.
- Perform basic housekeeping and ensure equipment and fridges are prepared according to SOPs.
- Produce daily management reports.

Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Experience: 0–1 year relevant working experience.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Organisational policies and procedures
- Pre- and post-analytical laboratory processes
- Computer literate, familiar with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and customer orientation
- Professionalism, ethical behavior, and flexibility
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
