Programme & Vacancy Overview

AQUITY Innovations NPC has been appointed by the National Department of Health as one of the Global Fund TB Sub-Recipients (SRs) in South Africa. The project is implemented in Mpumalanga (Ehlanzeni District) and the Eastern Cape (Buffalo City Metro and Amathole Districts).

To support project implementation, AQUITY Innovations NPC invites applications for Data Capturers to be based in the Amathole District.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining the TB/HIV module on TIER.Net and DR-TB data on EDR-Web by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely data capturing and reporting.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Capture accurate daily electronic TB and HIV data on government databases.
  • Verify and validate data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Maintain and update TB and HIV registers.
  • Compile routine statistical TB reports.
  • Capture clinical data from mobile and outreach teams.
  • Ensure data capturing complies with Department of Health (DoH) Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Submit data and reports within set timeframes.
  • Perform data quality assurance, verification, and control measures.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting templates accurately and timeously.
  • Support health facilities with data management challenges.
  • Perform administrative duties related to data capturing.
  • Liaise with facility staff on TB data recording and reporting.
  • Work closely with TB focal persons and facility managers.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the assigned facility supervisor (day-to-day supervision and timesheet approval).
  • Reports to the AQUITY Innovations Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, in line with organisational policies and Global Fund requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Post-matric qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data collection, capturing, management and/or analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of TB and HIV/AIDS.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with DoH data and/or M&E systems (patient record to DHIS level) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working with TIER.Net and/or EDR-Web will be an added advantage.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to take initiative, and work as part of a team.
  • Must be a South African citizen, fluent in at least one indigenous South African language.
