Programme & Vacancy Overview
AQUITY Innovations NPC has been appointed by the National Department of Health as one of the Global Fund TB Sub-Recipients (SRs) in South Africa. The programme is implemented in Mpumalanga (Ehlanzeni District) and Eastern Cape (Buffalo City Metro and Amathole Districts).
AQUITY Innovations NPC is seeking to appoint 26 TB Support Officers for deployment in the Ehlanzeni District, Mpumalanga.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct TB screening and specimen collection among close contacts of TB patients and other high-risk groups at community level
- Capture daily activities using Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools
- Report daily activities to the supervisor
- Support TB adherence clubs to improve treatment adherence and retention in care
- Provide TB patient education and counselling
- Support Mobile DCXR outreach initiatives to increase TB screening demand
- Conduct door-to-door community outreach activities
- Trace individuals, including TB patients, who miss clinic appointments
- Refer TB-positive individuals and sick household contacts to the nearest clinic

Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Certification as a Community Health Care Worker (advantageous)
Experience Requirements
