About the YES Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a national initiative led by the Presidency to combat youth unemployment in South Africa. Through this programme, Eskom provides unemployed young people with meaningful work experience, helping them develop practical workplace skills and improve their future employment opportunities.

Successful applicants will be placed within Eskom operations where they will gain valuable administrative experience during the 12-month programme.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be between 18 and 34 years old
  • Have Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification
  • Be unemployed
  • Not be studying full-time during the programme
  • Not have been permanently employed by one employer for longer than one continuous year
  • Not have previously participated in the YES Programme
