This critical position is responsible for ensuring warehouse safety, stock integrity, logistics efficiency, customer satisfaction, and compliance with operational and legal requirements. The successful candidate will oversee the Chlorine J1 Store, manage inventory controls, coordinate deliveries, supervise warehouse activities, and ensure all safety systems remain fully operational.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Diploma or other tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehousing, or a related field will be advantageous

Experience

  • 2–4 years’ experience in a warehousing environment
  • 2–4 years’ experience in stock control, stock investigations, and inventory management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar warehouse or logistics supervisory role
  • Code 14 driver’s licence will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Safety & Compliance

  • Manage the Chlorine J1 Store in accordance with MHI, ISO, and Omnia standards
  • Serve as the legally appointed Section 8.2(i) representative
  • Ensure safety systems, including scrubber equipment, remain operational
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and compliance checks
  • Promote PPE compliance and emergency preparedness

Logistics & Transport Management

  • Coordinate and optimise delivery schedules
  • Manage drivers, routes, overtime, and transport performance
  • Conduct route risk assessments before dispatch
  • Monitor driver behaviour and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure vehicle registrations and equipment compliance are maintained

Inventory & Warehouse Operations

  • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory integrity
  • Conduct stock counts and reconciliations
  • Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatch activities
  • Monitor warehouse layouts and equipment maintenance
  • Support annual stock count objectives and operational targets

Equipment Management

  • Manage forklifts, trucks, dock levellers, and warehouse equipment
  • Ensure inspections, servicing, and maintenance schedules are completed
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations

Customer Service & Quality Assurance

  • Resolve customer complaints efficiently
  • Investigate product-related issues and coordinate solutions
  • Maintain service reliability and quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement of customer experience

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and develop warehouse personnel
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and training
