Basic Operator Job Description
The Basic Operator is responsible for supporting daily production line activities and ensuring manufacturing processes run safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will help maintain product quality, workplace safety, and operational standards within the factory environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Production Line Operations
- Perform start-up and shutdown procedures according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct pre-start safety and cleanliness inspections
- Assist with equipment shutdown procedures
Cleaning and Hygiene
- Maintain factory cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Identify contamination risks and report issues to supervisors
- Follow factory cleaning SOPs carefully
Material Handling
- Supply packaging materials to production areas
- Maintain proper storage standards using 5S principles
- Support continuous production flow
Quality Control
- Monitor product and packaging quality
- Identify defects and process abnormalities

Administration
- Record production data accurately
- Complete shift handover reports
- Track rejects, packed units, and operational events

- Follow all factory safety regulations

Minimum Requirements
Educational Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Science OR
- N3 Engineering qualification
Experience Required
- Previous manufacturing or FMCG experience is advantageous
- Understanding of factory or production environments is beneficial
