Purpose of the Role
The Mobile Driver will provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for outreach teams, mobile clinic units, medical equipment, and healthcare commodities. The successful candidate will also assist outreach staff with community health activities, including HIV testing and TB screening, while ensuring vehicle safety and compliance with road traffic regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport outreach teams to various service delivery sites.
- Drive and maintain mobile clinic vehicles.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
- Ensure vehicles comply with company maintenance procedures.
- Keep accurate transport logs and submit fuel receipts weekly.
- Assist with HIV testing and TB screening activities.
- Support mapping and community site profiling.
- Ensure staff, equipment, and vehicles remain secure during outreach.
- Follow all South African road traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Maintain strict client confidentiality.
- Keep emergency contact numbers available inside the vehicle.
- Perform additional outreach duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric/NQF Level 4).
- Valid Code A Driver’s Licence.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience.
- Understanding of specimen handling and transportation.
- Knowledge of South African road legislation.
- Ability to communicate in English and at least one additional South African language such as isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sesotho, Setswana, or Afrikaans.
- South African citizenship or a valid work permit.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.

Advantageous Qualifications
The following will strengthen your application:
- Safe Driving Course.
- HIV Counselling and Testing Certificate.
- RTCQI Certificate.
- Two years’ experience in HIV testing and counselling.
- Two years’ experience in HIV and TB community education.
