This is a permanent role suited to experienced control room professionals with strong SCADA and security monitoring expertise.

Position Overview
The Security Control Room Operator is responsible for 24/7 monitoring and control of SANRAL’s SCADA systems and security infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted operations, rapid incident response, and full compliance with safety and security standards.
Shift-based role (rotational 24/7 control room environment)

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate / Matric)
- 5+ years experience in a control room environment
- PSIRA Grade B or A
- SCADA Training Certification

Technical Competencies
- SCADA GUI monitoring and alarm handling
- UPS, alarms, generators & standby plants
- Access control & CCTV systems
- Documentation, audit trails, and compliance reporting
Key Responsibilities
Operational
- Monitor SCADA, CCTV, access control, UPS & generators
- Log incidents and alarms in service management systems
- Ensure zero downtime and system availability
- Respond to alerts, incidents, and complaints
- Oversee contractor safety during after-hours maintenance
- Conduct testing, preventive maintenance & system checks
Reporting
- Compile risk, progress, and power management reports
- Maintain dashboards and maintenance records
- Escalate recurring system issues
Compliance
- Ensure adherence to SANRAL procedures and regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Support internal and external audits
