Purpose of the Position

The successful candidate will provide professional customer engagement services by handling customer enquiries through telephone, email, letters, and other communication channels. The goal is to resolve customer queries efficiently on the first contact while meeting service delivery targets and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must have:

  • Diploma in Customer Relations, Customer Services, or a related qualification (NQF Level 5)
  • 1–2 years of experience in a Customer Service, Information Services, or Call Centre environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work with CRM systems
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Answering incoming customer calls professionally
  • Responding to customer emails, letters, faxes, and other enquiries
  • Logging all customer interactions on the CRM system
  • Issuing service request reference numbers
  • Resolving customer enquiries during the first contact whenever possible
  • Escalating unresolved issues to the relevant departments
  • Monitoring customer requests until resolution
  • Updating customer records accurately
  • Providing administrative support to the Customer Engagement team
  • Following up on outstanding customer complaints
  • Coordinating with internal departments to resolve customer issues
  • Ensuring compliance with SABS policies and procedures
  • Supporting audit, governance, and risk management processes
  • Building positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Participating in meetings and team activities when required
