Job Purpose

The Receptionist is responsible for managing the dealership’s front desk and switchboard operations while ensuring every customer interaction reflects the premium standards of the Mercedes-Benz brand. The role requires excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Reception & Experience

  • Welcome all customers and visitors in a professional, friendly manner
  • Ensure all guests are attended to promptly and directed appropriately
  • Create a positive first impression aligned with luxury brand standards
  • Assist customers with basic enquiries and dealership guidance

Switchboard Management

  • Answer and manage all incoming calls efficiently and professionally
  • Screen, transfer, and route calls to the correct departments
  • Take accurate messages and ensure timely communication delivery
  • Handle high call volumes while maintaining professionalism

Administrative Duties

  • Perform general clerical and administrative support tasks
  • Maintain visitor logs, call records, and internal directories
  • Assist management with basic scheduling or coordination tasks
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence when required

Office & Front Desk Maintenance

  • Ensure reception area remains clean, organized, and presentable
  • Maintain brochures, forms, and customer materials in order
  • Manage refreshments/coffee station area where applicable
  • Uphold dealership presentation standards at all times

Required Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Essential)
  • Office Administration / Secretarial qualification (NQF Level 5+ advantageous)

Experience Requirements

  • Entry-level position (0–2 years preferred)
  • Previous experience in reception, front desk, or customer service is an advantage
  • Experience in automotive, retail, or corporate environments beneficial
