Job Overview

Absa is seeking an Officer Floorplan Inspection to protect the bank’s financed vehicle assets through regular dealer inspections and compliance monitoring. The successful candidate will conduct physical vehicle inspections, verify ownership documentation, identify risks, ensure settlement of financed vehicles, and maintain strong relationships with motor dealers and wholesale finance stakeholders.

This role requires frequent travel to dealerships, strong attention to detail, risk awareness, and the ability to investigate and report irregularities accurately.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Inspection & Verification

  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced dealer floorplan inspections.
  • Verify vehicle VIN numbers, engine numbers, and registration details.
  • Assess vehicle condition and report damages or unsaleable conditions.
  • Inspect vehicles located at third-party premises.
  • Verify ownership using original NaTIS documentation.
  • Confirm dealership ownership and title holder information.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify and report irregularities immediately.
  • Ensure financed vehicles are accounted for at all times.
  • Monitor dealer compliance with floorplan agreements.
  • Escalate potential risks to management.
  • Ensure adherence to all Wholesale Finance and DPP procedures.

Dealer Relationship Management

  • Serve as liaison between dealerships and Wholesale Finance.
  • Resolve dealer queries and escalate complex issues.
  • Provide process and procedural guidance to dealers.
  • Assist with dealer compliance and facility utilization monitoring.

Reporting & Administration

  • Plan monthly inspection routes and schedules.
  • Submit route plans to management monthly.
  • Verify proof of payments and vehicle settlements.
  • Record vehicle deliveries and settlements accurately.
  • Prepare inspection reports and risk findings.
  • Follow up on sold vehicles requiring settlement.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Physical Planning and Construction or related field.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Vehicle inspection and verification knowledge.
  • Risk identification and fraud awareness.
  • Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
  • Relationship management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
  • Planning, scheduling, and route management capabilities.
