About the Role

As a General Assistant (Messenger), you will help ensure the smooth daily operation of the hospital by safely delivering documents, laboratory specimens, and essential items between wards, departments, and the Care Centre. You may also assist with maintaining a clean and hygienic environment where required.

Your reliability and professionalism will help support healthcare teams in delivering excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver documents, specimens, and essential items safely and on time.
  • Transport confidential and sensitive materials with care.
  • Support hospital departments with messenger services.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas when required.
  • Follow workplace safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Work closely with hospital staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Provide courteous service to employees, patients, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role or hospital environment.
  • Experience in healthcare will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and professional.
