Job Overview
Busamed Hillcrest is seeking Enrolled Nursing Auxiliaries to join the High Care department. The successful candidates will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, while maintaining high standards of patient care and hospital practice.
The Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary will assess and respond to patients’ care needs, participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate care programmes, and contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.
The role also requires identifying and reporting potential or actual patient risks and ensuring that nursing stock is properly controlled and managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients.
- Work under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Assess patients’ nursing and care needs.
- Assist with implementing appropriate patient care programmes.
- Participate in evaluating patient care.
- Maintain high standards of nursing and patient care.
- Identify and report potential or actual risks.
- Ensure nursing stock is properly controlled and managed.
- Comply with hospital standards, policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional accountability for actions and omissions.
- Comply with relevant healthcare legislation and nursing standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
- Compliance with the SANC Code for Enrolled Nursing Auxiliaries.
- Compliance with applicable healthcare legislation.
- Ability to implement and maintain required healthcare practice standards.
- Approximately 3 years’ experience in the same or similar position.
- Relevant experience in nursing.
- Computer literacy.
- Fluent communication in English.

Advantageous Experience
- Previous experience in a private healthcare environment.
- Experience in the healthcare funding industry.
- Previous High Care nursing experience.

- Effective verbal communication in English.
