Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate), NCV Level 4, or an equivalent SAQA-recognised NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Relevant training or qualifications in Administration, Data Capturing, or Office Support will be an added advantage.
  • South African citizenship.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one other official South African language.

Knowledge and Skills

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent typing and data capturing skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
  • Good planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Professional work ethic with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and perform overtime when required.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the assigned unit, duties include:

  • Capture crime-related information on SAPS Crime Administration Systems.
  • Process information from official case dockets accurately.
  • Prepare emails, reports, correspondence and other official documents.
  • Maintain investigation files and records.
  • Record information relating to suspects, exhibits, operational plans and recovered property.
  • Provide administrative support to Detective Services or Visible Policing.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and document management.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as required.
