The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring processing equipment within the Ghee Department while ensuring production efficiency, product quality, hygiene compliance, and adherence to company safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / National Certificate / NQF Level 4
  • Relevant experience within a processing, manufacturing, or production environment
  • Understanding of production processes and operational procedures
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Business English
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to work in physically demanding or extreme production conditions

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Operate processing equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitor and control plant processes to ensure smooth operations
  • Operate machinery such as:
    • Separators
    • Cooking pots
    • Ghee fillers
    • Melting pots
  • Ensure production targets, yield, and throughput requirements are achieved
  • Support efficiency improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts
  • Record daily, weekly, and monthly production information including:
    • Production volumes
    • Yield reports
    • Utility consumption
    • Equipment downtime

Quality Assurance & Food Safety

  • Ensure product quality standards are maintained at all times
  • Monitor the integrity of raw materials and finished products
  • Conduct process sampling and testing according to QA procedures
  • Work closely with the laboratory team to support quality assurance programs
  • Maintain accurate QA documentation and records
  • Interpret quality results and take corrective action when necessary

Plant Maintenance & Safety

  • Report machinery and equipment faults to the maintenance department
  • Assist with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance activities
  • Participate in plant hygiene and cleanliness programs
  • Follow health, safety, and operational regulations at all times
