About the Opportunity
The City of Tshwane is expanding healthcare services across communities and households by recruiting 16 Staff Nurses to support primary healthcare delivery in municipal clinics. Successful candidates will provide essential nursing services and help improve access to quality healthcare for residents.
Minimum Requirements
- Registered as a Staff Nurse with the
- Experience working in primary healthcare facilities
- No criminal record
- No previous dismissal for misconduct
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal record screening
- Must allow fingerprint verification through the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 07:30 – 16:00
- Eight-hour shifts at City of Tshwane clinics
Key Responsibilities
Staff Nurses will provide basic primary healthcare services within their legal scope of practice, including:
Patient Care
- Provide basic nursing care and treatment
- Support patients with stable and uncomplicated health conditions
- Assist with care of patients with complex conditions under supervision of a Professional Nurse
- Provide basic emergency care
- Assess and screen patients’ health status

- Scanner Operator – Accounts (Permanent) | Mediclinic
- Internship: Servicing Administrator | Discovery
- Administrator: Vehicle Invoicing and Licensing
Clinical Duties
- Measure temperature, blood pressure, and weight
- Test urine, haemoglobin, and blood glucose
- Conduct pregnancy and eye tests
- Draw blood and collect medical specimens
- Nebulise patients
- Perform Pap smears
- Administer immunisations and intramuscular injections
- Provide wound care
- Refer patients when necessary
Health Promotion & Education
- Deliver health education sessions
- Provide HIV/AIDS counselling
- Promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention
- Give demonstrations to patients and students
Administration & Records
- Record patient information and medical results
- Capture daily clinic data
- Maintain patient files and clinic records
- Assist with reception duties when required
- Handle routine clinic enquiries and patient complaints
- Update clinic health information displays
