What You’ll Do

As part of the Microbiology team, you will:

  • Receive and process laboratory specimens accurately.
  • Capture and record specimen information.
  • Support microbiology laboratory procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining quality laboratory standards.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting processes.
  • Help facilitate timely delivery of laboratory results.
  • Follow laboratory safety and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to excellent client and patient service.
  • Work closely with experienced laboratory professionals and mentors.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must have:

  • National Diploma in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) OR
  • Bachelor of Health Science in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Registration with the as a Learner Medical Technologist.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Laboratory Science.
  • Valid South African Driver’s License (Code B).

Advantageous

  • 12 months of intern rotational training within a recognised training laboratory.

  • Fluency in English and Afrikaans.
