About the Role
The successful candidate will provide administrative, operational, and coordination support to the Artistic Director. The role focuses on supporting artistic programmes, production planning, stakeholder engagement, rehearsals, and theatre projects across Joburg City Theatres.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Diploma in Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Arts Management, Cultural Studies, or related qualification (NQF6)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
- Arts administration
- Production coordination
- Creative project support
- Knowledge of:
- Event and production planning
- Stakeholder coordination
- Theatre or artistic programme administration
- Computer literacy in:

Key Responsibilities
The Administrator: Artistic will:
- Assist with research and preparation of programming proposals
- Support the Artistic Director with productions and creative concepts
- Coordinate auditions, rehearsals, and artistic projects
- Schedule meetings with directors, performers, and producers
- Support theatre productions, festivals, and artistic events
- Maintain communication with artists and production teams
- Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and presentations
- Handle filing, documentation, and records management
- Attend rehearsals and creative meetings
- Compile monthly artistic programme reports
