About the Driver Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting employees, visitors, consultants, medical personnel and other site-based resources to designated areas within the mine and between different locations.
The Driver will also support the Transport & Facilities team by carrying out vehicle inspections, arranging maintenance and servicing, managing licence renewals and completing general delivery duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport employees and consultants to and from the airport.
- Transport team members to work sites and inspections.
- Transport nurses, medical personnel and trainers to contractor work areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of fleet vehicles.
- Arrange servicing and maintenance of fleet vehicles.
- Manage vehicle licence renewals.
- Monitor vehicle licence expiry dates and escalate renewals in advance.
- Complete general delivery and transportation duties.
- Follow all mine transportation procedures and safety requirements.
- Participate in relevant safety activities, risk assessments and safety action close-outs.
- Comply with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 or N3 Technical qualification.
- South African EC Driver’s Licence / Code 14.
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- 5 years of operational experience as a driver on a mine.
- Knowledge of South African road safety laws and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance.
- Knowledge of local and regional routes and traffic patterns.
- Understanding of mine transportation and delivery protocols.

Skills and Experience
