Role Overview

Momentum Investments is seeking a Payment Support Administrator to provide accurate, efficient and reliable payment administration support within Momentum Securities.

The role focuses on processing payments, receipts and journals, ensuring transactions are completed correctly and within required timelines. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, clients, service providers and senior payment administrators.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Administration

  • Process payment transactions according to established procedures.
  • Ensure payments are accurate, complete and processed within required deadlines.
  • Verify banking details before processing transactions.
  • Process receipts and journals accurately.
  • Assist with payment-related administrative activities.
  • Handle ad hoc payment requests when required.

Financial Controls & Reconciliation

  • Conduct daily checks across banking accounts.
  • Monitor reconciling items between banking systems and BDA.
  • Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving outstanding items.
  • Follow established financial controls and procedures.
  • Help minimise operational and payment risks.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.

Back-Office Support

  • Assist the Back Office Manager with payment authorisation processes.
  • Work closely with the Senior Payment Administrator.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of departmental schedules.
  • Ensure payment processes remain efficient and compliant with internal procedures.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain professional relationships with internal departments.
  • Communicate effectively with external clients and service providers.
  • Respond to payment-related queries and requests.
  • Work within agreed service-level requirements.
  • Support good client and interdepartmental relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4.
  • Relevant financial services experience will be advantageous.

Required Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience in payment processing.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in Forex trading and settlements.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with BDA and eCube.
  • Experience within financial markets or stockbroking.
  • Knowledge of JSE processes and eCube.
  • Understanding of Forex trading and settlements.

Technical Skills

Candidates should have:

  • Microsoft Word proficiency.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Windows proficiency.
  • Knowledge of BDA and eCube.
  • Understanding of financial markets and payment processes.
