Life Healthcare has an opportunity available for an unemployed Finance or Accounting graduate to join its 12-month Finance In-Service Training Learner programme at Life Groenkloof Hospital.
This opportunity is intended to provide graduates with practical workplace exposure and hands-on experience in finance and accounting within a professional healthcare environment. The programme is supported by HWSETA and will allow the successful candidate to develop practical skills that complement their academic qualification.
The learner will report directly to the Hospital Finance and Administration Manager.

About the Opportunity
The programme is designed for an ambitious graduate who has completed a Finance or Accounting qualification and needs practical workplace experience.
During the 12-month programme, the learner will be exposed to various general finance and administration functions. This includes working with financial records, invoices, expenses, debtors, creditors, reconciliations and financial data.
The experience gained can help the successful candidate strengthen their understanding of accounting principles and develop workplace-ready finance skills.
Key Responsibilities
The Finance In-Service Training Learner will assist the finance team with:
- Capturing and processing financial transactions.
- Processing and maintaining financial information.
- Assisting with expense-related activities.
- Supporting debtor and creditor administration.
- Performing data capturing and data entry.
- Assisting with financial reconciliations.
- Tracking departmental expenses.
- Checking and verifying invoices.
- Maintaining accurate financial records.
- Applying accounting principles to practical workplace situations.
- Assisting with finance-related administrative tasks.
- Liaising with different hospital departments to ensure the smooth flow of financial information.
- Responding to routine finance queries.
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance requests.
- Providing general administrative support to the finance department.
- Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Finance and Administration Manager.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must currently be unemployed.
- Must have completed Grade 12.
- Must hold a Finance or Accounting degree from a recognised University or University of Technology.
- Must be available and willing to complete the full 12-month workplace experience.
- Must not currently be a beneficiary of another HWSETA grant.
- Must not have participated in the HWSETA work experience grant in previous years.
Applicants who do not meet the programme eligibility requirements may not qualify for consideration.
