Purpose of the Job
The Process Artisan operates process equipment, systems and processes within a specific plant or production unit. The role is focused on achieving production requirements while ensuring that all operations are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures.
The successful candidates will contribute to reliable plant operations, identify potential problems, support continuous improvement and participate in workplace safety initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
The appointed candidates may be responsible for:
- Operating process equipment and plant systems.
- Conducting regular plant inspections.
- Taking and maintaining operational logs.
- Performing basic first-line fault finding.
- Carrying out duties allocated by the Foreman.
- Following the Work Management System.
- Complying with permit-to-work requirements.
- Reporting unsafe conditions and at-risk behaviours.
- Following all safety regulations and approved work standards.
- Participating in risk assessments.
- Providing regular feedback to supervisors.
- Maintaining good housekeeping within the work area.
- Following approved waste disposal procedures.
- Conducting IMS inspections.
- Supporting plant sustainability and operational improvements.
- Working independently when required.
- Working effectively with other teams and disciplines.
- Participating in toolbox talks.
- Providing input on plant safety matters.
- Supporting emergency response activities.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Matric or N3 with Pure Mathematics, English and Physical Science.
- NQF Level 2–4 Chemical Operations qualification or CPO qualification.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in plant operations.
- Experience with panel operation.
- A valid driver’s licence.
