Job Overview
Unilever is looking for a Machine Operator to join its Supply Chain team in Boksburg. The successful candidate will safely operate production machinery, ensure products meet quality standards, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production machines safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine machine inspections and report equipment faults.
- Complete product changeovers while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Record production data and machine losses using Shopware/Build App.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and equipment standards.
- Work with maintenance and quality teams to reduce breakdowns and defects.
- Monitor product quality and prevent defective products from reaching customers.
- Follow health, safety, environmental, and waste management procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizens and OPLs.
- Complete accurate shift handover reports.

Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or N3 with Mathematics and Science.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of factory automation.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, including factory shutdown periods and training schedules.
- Good physical fitness and agility.
