DSV is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Manager, Operations (WMS Controller) at its Kempton Park, Gauteng facility. This permanent, full-time opportunity is suited to experienced logistics and warehouse professionals with strong Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge and a passion for improving operational efficiency.

As the WMS Key User, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Warehouse Management System operates efficiently while supporting warehouse teams, IT departments, and management. You will also help drive continuous improvement projects, system upgrades, staff training, and warehouse automation initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Blue Yonder, JDA Dispatcher or RedPrairie
At least 2 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing or supply chain operations
1–2 years’ experience as a WMS Key User, System Super User or System Support Specialist
Experience with system implementations, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), or employee training
Valid driver’s licence with own transport
Willingness to travel within Gauteng, South Africa and internationally
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience

Candidates with the following experience will have an added advantage:

Warehouse Supervisor or Inventory Controller experience
Participation in warehouse system rollouts and upgrades
Knowledge of Lean Warehousing principles
Experience with warehouse process automation
Strong reporting and data analysis skills

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Acting as the first point of contact for all WMS-related issues
Monitoring Warehouse Management System performance
Troubleshooting system errors and escalating technical issues when necessary
Managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) during system updates
Maintaining accurate warehouse master data, including SKU and bin location information
Monitoring inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock reconciliations
Validating inbound, outbound and internal warehouse transactions
Training warehouse staff on WMS processes and best practices
Updating process documentation and user manuals
Supporting audits and compliance activities
Identifying warehouse process improvements
Assisting with WMS implementations and business system integrations
Running operational reports and analysing warehouse performance
Supporting warehouse staff with scanning and transaction issues
Working closely with IT, operations and management teams
