About the Role
The Pharmacy Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration of the hospital pharmacy. The successful candidate will accurately capture and process pharmacy documentation, assist with inventory management, support financial processes, and help ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and audit requirements.
This position requires someone who is highly organized, able to work under pressure, and committed to maintaining accurate records while delivering excellent service to both internal departments and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices and credit notes accurately on the SAP system.
- Batch invoices daily for payment processing.
- Follow up on outstanding supplier invoices.
- Resolve pricing queries with buyers and suppliers.
- Process internal ward transfers and pharmacy credits.
- Capture pharmacy information accurately and within required deadlines.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and audit compliant.
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist the finance department by resolving payment and documentation queries.
- Receive pharmaceutical stock and verify deliveries.
- Barcode stock and ensure accurate product identification.
- Assist with stock control, cycle counts, and annual stock takes.
- Process weekly medical aid remittances using the CKS system.
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy staff with administrative duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy work environment.
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong administrative and data capturing skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
