Purpose of the Position

The Data Capturer will be responsible for capturing clinical-related data received from mobile and outreach teams. The role also involves maintaining electronic databases, checking data for correctness and completeness, conducting routine data quality checks and liaising with relevant staff to verify information.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12, together with one or more years of relevant experience and/or training in HIV, AIDS and STI programmes, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificate in Database Management.
  • Experience in data capturing and maintaining or updating databases.
  • Knowledge of the complete data management process, including data analysis.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working with HIV, AIDS and STI programme data.
  • Experience or background in TIER.Net and information management.
  • Proficiency in English and a local language.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Neatly filing PrEP client folders at the regional office.
  • Retrieving client folders according to schedules provided by clinical staff.
  • Updating client information and capturing newly initiated clients on the CommCare database.
  • Capturing data at catchment facilities using the TIER.Net PrEP module when required.
  • Assisting with daily and weekly reports, data verification and weekly and monthly trackers.
  • Supporting HTS, PPPREV and PrEP RDQAs as required by the Monitoring and Evaluation Department.
  • Assisting with HTS and PrEP data verification.
  • Supporting the M&E Coordinator with monthly data submissions to TB HIV Care management, the Department of Health, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Updating NHLS results on PrEP files and databases.
  • Capturing clients from PPPREV interventions on the PPPREV database.
  • Assisting Data Monitors in ensuring that clients sign intervention registers and POPIA consent forms.
  • Attending workshops, meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Participating in weekly Quality Improvement (QI) meetings where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with POPIA requirements and TB HIV Care standard operating procedures.
