South African Airways Technical is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Senior Logistics Support Assistant to join its Line Stations business unit in Cape Town. ABOUT THE POSITION
The Senior Logistics Support Assistant will be responsible for supporting the efficient flow and control of aircraft materials, tools and equipment. The role involves receiving and storing materials, picking and issuing stock, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that all material movements are correctly captured in the AMOS system.
This position requires someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working with stock control, documentation and warehouse processes. Attention to detail is particularly important, as accurate material tracking contributes to operational readiness, traceability and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive aircraft components, tools, equipment and materials into Stores in a timely manner. • Bin and store materials correctly according to established requirements. • Pick and issue stock from the Toolstore as required. • Verify delivery documentation against materials received. • Ensure received materials comply with applicable requirements. • Allocate appropriate bin and rack locations. • Maintain accurate bin and rack labels. • Update paperwork and aircraft material shelf-life documentation. • Process picking slips accurately and on time. • Dispatch stock items to internal customers and stakeholders. • Investigate and perform stock verification when discrepancies occur. • Conduct stock count reconciliations. • Participate in scheduled and regular stock-taking activities. • Ensure all stock movements are accurately and promptly updated on the AMOS system. • Liaise with internal customers and relevant stakeholders when required. • Follow Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 – Essential. • Certificate in Supply Chain Management or Logistics – Advantageous. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Basic knowledge of warehouse systems. • Intermediate analytical and numerical skills. • Good understanding of customer deliverables. • Understanding of the impact of service failures and the cost of poor quality.
