Job Purpose

The Driver: Code 8 is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of stock to customers. The successful candidate will represent TWK Agri during deliveries, maintain high customer service standards, and ensure that all deliveries comply with company procedures and road safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Deliver stock safely and efficiently to customers.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed according to scheduled routes.
  • Load and off-load goods carefully to prevent damage.
  • Verify stock quantities before departure and upon delivery.
  • Complete delivery notes, invoices, and other transport documentation accurately.
  • Obtain customer signatures where required.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips.
  • Report vehicle faults or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean and presentable.
  • Follow all company transport procedures and safety standards.
  • Comply with all South African road traffic regulations.
  • Assist with stock counting and warehouse duties when required.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service during deliveries.
  • Work overtime during busy operational periods.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Valid South African Code 8 driver’s licence.
  • Previous experience transporting stock or goods.
  • Good knowledge of road safety regulations.
  • Physically fit to load and off-load stock.
  • Valid passport will be advantageous but is not essential.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following environments may have an advantage:

  • Agricultural supply deliveries.
  • Retail distribution.
  • Warehouse logistics.
  • Hardware or building material deliveries.
