Job Purpose

The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and renovation tasks across the site while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations. The role also involves assisting with electrical and mechanical maintenance and completing scheduled inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic building maintenance and repair work.
  • Carry out elementary plumbing, bricklaying, plastering, tiling, and painting tasks.
  • Assist with electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Repair and renovate interior and exterior surfaces, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of maintenance equipment.
  • Complete daily and monthly maintenance reports.
  • Receive and complete scheduled job cards.
  • Collect required maintenance materials and spare parts.
  • Ensure all work areas are safely demarcated before maintenance begins.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Conduct visual and audio inspections where required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Relevant maintenance and handyman experience.
  • Experience applying practical maintenance techniques and processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Business English.
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding and extreme conditions.
  • Experience interacting professionally with senior management.
  • Applicants must currently reside in Cape Town.
