Purpose of the Role

The Shift Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of mining shift operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive performance. The successful candidate will oversee production activities, optimise operational processes, coordinate maintenance, manage resources, and support a motivated workforce while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily mining shift operations.
  • Optimise production processes and operational performance.
  • Prepare and submit reports on operational deviations.
  • Arrange for underground materials and supplies to be transported to stores.
  • Process and manage operational requests.
  • Coordinate call-out procedures during emergencies.
  • Ensure production meets quality standards.
  • Capture production tonnage figures into company systems.
  • Generate and analyse operational reports using the SCADA system.
  • Coordinate transport and logistics activities.
  • Manage control room operations and related functions.
  • Support maintenance planning and execution.
  • Perform standby duties and work overtime when operationally required.
  • Ensure compliance with Sasol’s SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (High School Diploma) or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ relevant mining industry experience.
  • Valid South African driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
