About the Role

The Temporary Stock & Compliance Assistant is responsible for supporting the airline’s onboard catering and stock operations by conducting stock counts, verifying inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with operational procedures, and reporting discrepancies. The role helps maintain efficient aircraft turnaround times while ensuring safety and regulatory standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical stock counts on aircraft catering trolleys and storage facilities.
  • Capture and update stock records accurately using company systems.
  • Verify that catering trolleys are properly sealed before departure.
  • Monitor compliance with stock handling and operational procedures.
  • Observe compliance by flight crew and catering service providers.
  • Investigate and report stock shortages, damages, losses, or procedural breaches.
  • Assist with stock reconciliation and inventory audits.
  • Support daily stock control and compliance activities.
  • Complete required reports and documentation accurately.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in:
    • Stock control
    • Inventory management
    • Compliance monitoring
    • Related operational environment
  • Basic understanding of stock management principles.
  • Willingness to work overtime, shifts, weekends, public holidays, and standby when operationally required.

Advantageous Qualifications

The following will strengthen your application:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, or a related qualification.
