Job Purpose
The Temp Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for parents, learners, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will ensure that the reception area operates efficiently while providing friendly, professional, and confidential administrative support.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming parents, visitors, suppliers, and learners.
- Managing the school’s reception desk.
- Answering, screening, and transferring incoming telephone calls.
- Taking accurate messages and forwarding them promptly.
- Assisting parents and visitors with general enquiries.
- Directing visitors to the correct staff members or departments.
- Providing administrative and clerical support.
- Maintaining visitor registers and reception records.
- Assisting with filing, photocopying, scanning, and document management.
- Supporting school administration during busy periods.
- Maintaining confidentiality of school information.
- Ensuring the reception area remains clean, organised, and professional.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Relevant receptionist, front desk, or administrative experience.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate a switchboard and multi-line telephone system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
