About the Role
The Branch Administrator plays a key operational support role within the laboratory and Care Centre environment. This position ensures that daily administrative, patient-facing, and laboratory coordination tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
You will support both clinical and operational workflows by maintaining data accuracy, improving service delivery, and ensuring smooth coordination between patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory teams.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Operations
- Capture and manage patient and laboratory data accurately
- Maintain organised records and documentation systems
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and internal documentation
- Ensure timely flow of information across departments
Patient & Care Centre Support
- Welcome and assist patients professionally and empathetically
- Guide patients through requisition forms and service processes
- Log patient details into laboratory systems
- Conduct benefits checks and respond to general enquiries
- Handle billing queries and account-related assistance
Financial Processing
- Process card and cash payments accurately
- Generate pro forma invoices when required
- Ensure compliance with financial and administrative procedures
Laboratory Coordination
- Receive and verify specimens against test requests
- Label, batch, and prepare specimens for processing
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of samples
- Support timely dispatch of laboratory results to clinicians
Operational Excellence
- Identify and resolve routine operational issues
- Escalate complex problems where necessary
- Support continuous improvement of branch processes
- Maintain confidentiality and data integrity at all times
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
- 0–4 years’ experience in administration (healthcare experience advantageous)
- Exposure to pathology or laboratory environments is beneficial but not mandatory
