Job Purpose

The successful candidate will assist in providing a professional, comprehensive, and cost-effective pharmaceutical service to hospital patients and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability of medicines and scheduled substances.
  • Support accurate dispensing of medication.
  • Maintain efficient stock management and control.
  • Assist with pharmaceutical distribution processes.
  • Comply with healthcare and pharmacy regulations.

Minimum Requirements

Essential Qualification

  • Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic Certificate.

Experience

  • No previous experience required.

Advantageous Experience

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a private hospital pharmacy.
  • Clinical pharmacy exposure.
  • Antimicrobial stewardship knowledge.
  • Stock management and pharmaceutical distribution experience.

Required Skills

  • Clinical pharmacy knowledge.
  • Understanding of antimicrobial stewardship.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy legislation and healthcare regulations.
  • Ethical product knowledge.
  • Financial management awareness.
  • Understanding of medical aid schemes, formularies, and benefits.
  • Experience with pharmacy systems such as UNISOLVE and AS400.
