ROLE PURPOSE
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining efficient crew scheduling operations by managing helpdesk activities, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and assisting in the daily execution of crew roster planning and adjustments. The role ensures that operational disruptions are handled quickly and effectively while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Helpdesk & Operational Support
- Manage the Roster Helpdesk on a daily basis
- Log, track, and assign incoming queries and tickets
- Ensure all tickets are resolved within a 24-hour SLA
- Escalate high-priority or complex issues to management
2. Crew Scheduling Operations
- Support Crew Scheduling and Crew Control teams as required
- Assist in roster adjustments due to operational changes or disruptions

3. Compliance & Regulatory Monitoring
- Monitor crew duty, rest, and flight time limitations
- Ensure adherence to SACAA regulations, CATS, CARS, and company operations manuals
- Flag non-compliance risks and support corrective actions
4. Reporting & Data Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational reports
- Analyse scheduling performance and helpdesk trends
- Develop dashboards, charts, and visual reports for management review
5. Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with internal departments and operational stakeholders
- Ensure smooth communication during flight disruptions or irregular operations
- Provide timely updates and feedback to relevant teams
6. System & Process Management
- Perform daily system checks and operational readiness tasks
- Maintain accurate scheduling data across systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the scheduling function
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
- Diploma or Degree in:
- Logistics
- Operations Management
- Aviation Management (Advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
- Crew Scheduling
- Flight Operations Support
- Training Planning
- Knowledge of:
- CATS / CARS
- SACAA aviation regulations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with data reporting and operational dashboards
- Excellent communication and telephone etiquette
