The General Assistant will be responsible for supporting the overall operations by taking customer orders, preparing basic drinks, maintaining cleanliness, stocking shelves, and performing other general tasks to ensure a smooth customer experience, all while adhering to hygiene and safety standards.Requirements

  • Certificate in Hospitality will be advantageous
  • Grade 12

Work Experience

  • +- 2 years working in the hospitality environment
  • Working experience in private healthcare will be advantageous

Knowledge

  • Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
  • Serving beverages such as coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks
  • Serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries
  • Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
  • Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
  • Tracking and ordering inventory for cafe and beverage supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, napkins and cups
  • Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
  • Keeping the work environment and cafe seating area clean, sanitary and organized
  • Responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints
  • Cleaning and rearranging the store after hours
  • Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality ofservice
  • Attracting new customers and refining the menu
