Purpose of the Position

The Driver will be responsible for transporting FlySafair crew members and staff safely and efficiently between airports, hotels, training facilities, and other operational locations. The role also includes maintaining company vehicles, ensuring legal compliance, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Services

  • Safely transport crew members and employees to various destinations.
  • Ensure all collections and drop-offs are completed on schedule.
  • Assist with urgent operational trips and special transport requests.
  • Support airport and operational logistics when required.
  • Ensure safe driving practices at all times.

Vehicle Management

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Report mechanical faults or safety concerns immediately.
  • Keep vehicles clean inside and outside.
  • Ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with company standards.
  • Monitor servicing schedules and licensing requirements.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance when necessary.

Administration

  • Record daily mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs.
  • Submit fuel slips and expense documentation.
  • Complete vehicle inspection reports.
  • Keep transport records up to date.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all South African road traffic regulations.
  • Adhere to FlySafair’s safety and security procedures.
  • Ensure passengers travel safely and comfortably.
  • Drive responsibly under all weather and road conditions.
  • Protect company property and confidential information.

Customer Service

  • Provide professional and courteous service to all passengers.
  • Maintain confidentiality when transporting staff and management.
  • Represent FlySafair positively during every interaction.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid Code B Driver’s Licence.
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional driving experience.
  • Experience transporting staff or crew will be an advantage.
  • Medical fitness to perform driving duties.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Good understanding of South African road traffic legislation.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays.
