Head of Estate Management Job Responsibilities
As the Head of Estate Management, you will play a key role in establishing the Estate Administration division and developing its processes, systems, and operating model.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and setting up the Estate Management team and function.
- Developing the operating model and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the team’s activities.
- Defining and specifying system requirements for the estate administration system.
- Working closely with panel administrators responsible for managing deceased estates and testamentary trusts.
- Consolidating weekly reports on the progress and status of deceased estates and testamentary trusts.
- Monitoring the performance and efficiency of panel administrators.
- Providing regular and structured updates to heirs and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintaining effective communication with heirs and brokers involved in deceased estates.
- Managing relationships between Discovery, clients, heirs, brokers, and panel administrators.
- Performing estate and trust administration duties when required as the team and function grow.
- Supporting the development and scaling of the internal estate administration function.
- Leading the Estate Management team once the function has been fully established.

Requirements for the Head of Estate Management Position

- At least 5 years of estate administration experience.
- Previous experience leading an Estate Management team.
- Experience within a trust company, law firm, fiduciary services provider, or bank.

Qualifications and Professional Registration
Applicants should meet one of the relevant professional and educational requirements, including:
- Admitted Attorney with relevant legal qualifications; or
- CFP (Certified Financial Planner) with legal qualifications; or
- A legal degree combined with extensive and relevant professional experience.
