Job Purpose
- Support the VIDA operations department
- Provide safe and efficient transport services for staff, patients, and materials
Key Responsibilities
- Keep vehicles clean and conduct routine checks
- Drive safely and follow all road regulations
- Report vehicle faults, damages, or accidents promptly
- Assist with vehicle inspections and fault reporting
- Coordinate daily transport schedules with management
- Complete required vehicle logs and documentation
- Transport patients, staff, and goods safely
- Assist with administrative and maintenance duties when required
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Matric / Grade 12 (basic numeracy and literacy)
License
- Valid South African driver’s license (Code 08 or 10)
Experience
- Minimum 1 year driving experience
Advantageous Skills
- Advanced driving certification or Professional Driver’s Permit (PDP)
- Ability to work independently
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Customer-focused and good communication skills
- IATA certification (added advantage)
Job Demands
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
- Strong punctuality and time management
- Good sense of direction
- Ability to handle emergencies (e.g., breakdowns, safety risks)
