ABOUT THE JOB

The DPWI is hiring Driver Operators to assist with transporting staff, equipment, and materials, while also supporting basic administrative and operational duties.

This role is ideal for candidates looking to gain government driving experience and build a career in logistics and operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 10 certificate or equivalent
  • Valid Code 08 and/or Code 10 driver’s licence
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of road traffic regulations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and planning ability
  • Ability to follow safety and security procedures

Added Advantage:

  • Knowledge of Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS) Act

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport workers, materials, and equipment to various sites
  • Pick up and drop off staff as required
  • Maintain vehicle logbooks and trip records
  • Ensure safe handling of goods and documentation
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections
  • Keep vehicles clean and report faults
  • Perform basic admin duties (filing, copies, scheduling)
  • Follow all road safety and compliance regulations
