About the Position
As a Customer Care Consultant, you will serve as one of the first points of contact between the City of Tshwane and members of the public. The role involves assisting residents with municipal enquiries, capturing complaints, providing updates on service requests, and ensuring customers receive professional, accurate, and timely assistance.
Successful candidates will work in either customer walk-in centres or municipal call centres depending on operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a customer relations or customer service environment.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of SAP Customer Interaction Centre (SAP CIC) and SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to undergo a criminal record check.
- Willingness to have fingerprints taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at their own cost.
- Flexibility to work at any regional customer care walk-in centre or call centre as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Respond to customer complaints and enquiries professionally.
- Assist residents with municipal service-related requests.
- Capture, register and monitor customer complaints.
- Escalate complex matters where necessary.
- Provide accurate information regarding municipal services.
- Keep detailed records of all customer interactions.
- Compile complaint and enquiry statistics.
- Prepare reports for supervisors.
- Assist the Senior Customer Care Consultant with customer service initiatives.
- Implement customer service procedures and systems.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling customer information.
- Promote a positive image of the City of Tshwane through professional service delivery.
