Cadet Learnership

The Department of Home Affairs, in partnership with the Public Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA), invites applications for the 2023 Cadet Learnership Programme.

The programme is part of a Youth Development Empowerment initiative that aligns with the National Development Plan’s idea of formalized recruitment schemes, offering theoretical training and experiential learning.

The initiative provides unemployed South African youth with the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge, and experience, enabling them to take part actively and meaningfully in the labor market.

Duration 12-month 

Stipend: R4 500.00

  • Grade 12
  • South African citizens
  • Between 18 to 35 years 

Programme Details

The Cadet Learnership Programme comprises both theoretical and practical components. The programme focuses on training for the National Certificate: Home Affairs Services and exposes learners to the core business of the Department (Civic Services and Immigration Services). Preference will be given to youth who reside within close proximity to the office where the post is based.

Application Process

Applicants need to complete a signed and dated Z83 Application for Employment Form obtainable from any Public Service Department or Government website (www.dpsa.gov.za). This must be accompanied by a Comprehensive CV and certified copies of the applicant’s Grade 12 certificate and Identification Document.

If an applicant is in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation Certificate obtained from SAQA. Successful candidates will be subjected to pre-employment screening and security checks.

Please note that learners who previously participated in a Public Service Learnership Programme will not be considered.
