Job Overview
Anglo American Kumba Iron Ore is looking for a qualified and motivated Carpenter to join its Engineering & Maintenance team in Kathu. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining buildings, fabricating carpentry components, repairing tools and equipment, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry maintenance on buildings and infrastructure.
- Fabricate new carpentry components and equipment.
- Service, repair, and maintain tools and equipment.
- Read technical drawings and work instructions accurately.
- Complete job cards and maintenance records on time.
- Test completed work to ensure quality and functionality.
- Maintain tools and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Evaluate and commission installations.
- Assist supervisors and colleagues when required.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / N3 Technical (NQF Level 3)
- Qualified Carpenter Trade Certificate
- Valid South African Driver’s Licence
- 2–3 years of relevant carpentry experience
- Knowledge of safety standards, maintenance procedures, and technical drawings
