About the Role
is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Officer to join its Maternal Screening – Specialised Chemistry team at the National Reference Laboratory in Centurion.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring laboratory operations run smoothly by receiving, sorting, processing, and managing specimens accurately. You will help maintain efficient workflows while supporting the delivery of reliable diagnostic services that contribute to quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and process laboratory specimens accurately.
- Capture and maintain laboratory information and records.
- Perform general administrative duties and document management.
- Respond to laboratory and helpdesk queries professionally.
- Operate and maintain automated laboratory systems.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and safety standards.
- File, store, and discard specimens according to laboratory procedures.
- Support efficient communication between departments.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all administrative processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- 1–2 years of administrative experience.
- Good understanding of office administration processes.
- Ability to work in a structured and fast-paced environment.
