Anglo American Kumba Iron Ore is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Clerk to support facilities management operations at its Kathu site. This exciting opportunity is ideal for candidates with administrative experience who are looking to build a rewarding career within one of South Africa’s leading mining companies.
As a Facilities Clerk, you will assist with planning and scheduling maintenance activities, SAP administration, document control, customer service support, and facilities coordination to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Administration & Scheduling
- Plan and schedule daily and weekly facilities management activities.
- Track and monitor job cards to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
- Prepare weekly deviation reports and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Create urgent work orders and ensure proper approval processes are followed.
SAP & Operational Support
- Process Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), reservations, and service entries using SAP.
- Maintain facilities records, logs, and administrative systems.
- Coordinate contractor access and office logistics.
- Ensure accurate maintenance documentation and compliance records.
Customer Service
- Respond to customer requests and complaints professionally.
- Convert service requests into work orders promptly.
- Follow up with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers.
- Escalate recurring issues to improve service delivery.
Document Control & Reporting
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
- Ensure version control and audit readiness of documents.
- Assist with departmental reporting, dashboards, and compliance tracking.
- Support accurate timekeeping administration.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Participate in risk assessments and workplace safety initiatives.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within work areas.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant Administrative Qualification (NQF Level 4).
- Valid South African Driver’s License.
Experience
- 1–2 years of administrative experience within facilities management, mining, logistics, transport, or a related environment.
Skills & Knowledge
- SAP experience (PRs, POs, reservations, and service entries).
- Strong planning and scheduling abilities.
- Knowledge of document control systems and filing procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to coordinate contractors and facilities-related activities.
