Job Purpose
The Service Consultant will assist clients with digital and self-service banking solutions while processing cash transactions and providing first-line support for banking devices. The successful candidate will help improve customer experience, encourage digital banking adoption, and ensure efficient branch operations.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service and Customer Support
- Welcome and assist clients in the branch.
- Address customer concerns regarding queue management and digital banking services.
- Help clients download and access online banking applications.
- Resolve login and digital banking issues.
- Assist customers with purchasing prepaid airtime and data.
- Help clients obtain bank statements, cards, and related documents.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Educate customers on digital banking products and self-service channels.
- Identify sales opportunities and refer clients to relevant departments.
Cash Handling and Branch Operations
- Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cash transactions.
- Balance and secure branch stock, including bank cards.
- Perform ATM cash loading and replenishment.
- Conduct first-line maintenance on branch devices.
- Support cash management and cash recycling initiatives.
- Process foreign exchange requests according to company policies.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and documentation.
Risk and Compliance
- Adhere to cash control limits and branch security procedures.
- Prevent fraud by following customer verification processes.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
- Report discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.

Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualification
- Diploma (NQF Level 6)
Preferred Qualification
- Banking Services Qualification
- Higher Certificate in Banking Services (NQF Level 5) or equivalent
Experience Required
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in:
- Retail banking
- Customer service
- Cash handling
- Technology and digital banking support
- First-line problem resolution
- Foreign exchange experience will be advantageous where applicable.
